German Language Lessons
Our Paraplü Integration Centre specialises in German Language Lessons with that " extra touch":
- Welcome-classes for basic level and advanced modules
- Mother-Child German language lessons
- Summer classes
- Pupils’ classes
- Literacy classes
- German conversation class for women
Welcome classes and mother-child language lessons start at the end of February and at the end of September. They last for one semester. Registration is possible at the beginning of February or September.
The summer intensive course offers a comprehensive and intensive approach to the German language and responds flexibly to the learners' previous knowledge and needs.
There is also the German Club and the Literacy Club especially for asylum seekers.
Further information about the courses
The German Language Classes Level 1 to 4 are combined with "Welcome Information" about living and working in Upper Austria, especially in Steyr. They are primarily intended for people who cannot attend daily courses due to their family or work situation and usually take place once a week in the evening.
Part of the German Language Classes Level 1 is basic information in the 10 most common languages in Steyr, which is listened to in the German course via MP3 player according to individual needs and then discussed in German in the course.
From Level 2 onwards, in-depth modules on the topics "Steyr introduces itself", "Education and Work", "Family, School, Housing" and "Health" form part of the German course, whereby 2 topics can be chosen individually in each case.
The mother-child classes were developed together with the Parent-Child Centre Steyr and consist in the beginning of joint play time for mothers and children, based on the parent-child play group concept.
In the second part, the mothers learn German, using topics that are relevant to them in everyday life. Special emphasis is also placed on getting to know childcare options, the school system and educational principles.
The children play together under the guidance of playgroup leaders and learn German in a playful way.
For parents with children up to primary school age, we also recommend the international parent-child meetings.
The course for pupils prepares for an (anxiety-free!) entry into the Austrian school system by teaching basic knowledge and working on fundamental subject areas.

The courses take place at Stadtplatz 29, 4400 Steyr in the course room (courtyard).
